Sara & Naresh’s South Asian Wedding at Durango Casino & Resort

A Las Vegas wedding featured on Rocky Mountain Bride

There are weddings we look back on for the design, and others we remember for the people and everything that happened along the way. Sara and Naresh’s was both.

Their wedding was one of the first celebrations held at the newly opened Durango Casino & Resort in Las Vegas. They brought together a classic American ceremony with Indian traditions that were meaningful to them, including floral garlands and a milk ceremony, while still making plenty of room for the celebration to feel completely their own.

A Wedding That Felt Like Them

One of our favorite things about planning this wedding was watching Sara and Naresh make decisions together.

There were changes throughout the planning process—as there almost always are—but they were never afraid to reconsider something when it didn’t feel right. That willingness to trust themselves ultimately shaped a wedding that felt personal rather than prescribed.

The ceremony took place outdoors against Durango’s desert landscape, followed by an indoor reception where Sara and Naresh changed from their red and gold wedding attire into ivory and champagne looks for the evening. And, importantly, their dog Bruno made an appearance for portraits.

Then Came the Party

The reception was exactly what we hoped it would be: a room full of people actually enjoying themselves.

The dance floor stayed packed, song requests kept coming, and after months of planning, Sara and Naresh finally got to simply be part of it.

That will always be one of our measures of a well-planned wedding. Not whether every minute happened exactly as it appeared on paper, but whether the couple was able to stop managing the day and experience it.
